Australia's No. 1 selling Portable Brake Controller
Beware of other 'brands'; they are assembled quickly and cheaply. Our assemblies are unique, strong, safe, and durable, and manufactured from the ground up as a portable unit:

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT:
We have engaged engineers to design and approve this kit. This kit is manufactured from the ground up for strength and durability as a portable unit. The weak spot is where the wiring exits the controller. We have solved this issue by specifically manufacturing the controller unit with a wiring exit design that securely anchors the wiring, has no joins, and is super strong. This prevents the wiring from pulling away internally from the circuit board

  • We are the original manufacturer of portable brakes - 15+ years experience
  • We offer a 3-year warranty on all parts of the assembly
  • We have a proven track record, over 2000 5-star reviews!

ADR compliant, legal in all states and territories
Suppliers to National & International customers,
individuals, hire companies and government bodies

Built strong - Quality guarantee – money back if you’re not completely satisfied

The Connection Process:
Connection is simple. Plug into your interior front accessory socket, run the main loom through the vehicle via boot, rear door (utes & dual cabs), under tailgate, etc., to the rear of your vehicle, plug to car, socket to trailer or caravan, etc. Use common sense to ensure there is not excess cable overhang. The Brake Controller unit can be placed in the console area, as long as it is within reach of the driver.

IMPORTANT:

  • This unit does not need to be mounted to function correctly. We can also supply a cup holder brake controller mount – see our other listings
  • Mounting any objects under or around the dash area may interfere with airbag deployment – check with vehicle manufacturer for safety advice if this is being considered
  • Do not run other accessories from the same plug and/or circuit whilst the Portable Brake Controller is in use
  • Operational instructions supplied
  • 5-minute setup
  • Rated up to 14 amps, two axle (4 brakes), caravans, trailers, horse floats etc
  • 3-year warranty
  • A unique high-quality assembly
  • Anchored wiring loom to prevent damage

Q&A:

Q: Who are Portable Brake Controllers Australia?

A: We are a bona fide business, registered for GST and ASIC. We are not 'backyarders,' and we are the longest-standing portable brake supplier in Australia

Q: Can this unit be cabin mounted

A: Modern vehicles have knee airbags; mounting may interfere with their function. Check with the vehicle manufacturer before any cabin mounting process is undertaken

Q: What are the power specifications for this assembly?

A: Depending on your accessory socket output, the following specifications apply:

POWER SETTING SPECIFICATION

Accessory Socket

Single Axle

Dual Axle

14A

MAX

MAX

10A

MAX

80%

Q: Does this come with instructions?

A: Yes, instructions for the controller unit, as well as operational instructions for portable use, are supplied

Q: Why should I choose this unit?

A: Ordered directly from the manufacturer to our specification, this unit is deliberately simple in operation and use; it takes only a few minutes to be up and running. There is no complicated setup programming, and the unit can be used in any position as long as it is within reach of the driver. Other portable kits on the market require directional mounting and/or levelling.

Q: Other kits use split tubing around main loom?

A: The split tubing is too thick to use through boot lid, tailgate, etc. It will cause the opposite effect to what it is trying to prevent (damage to the wiring) and will cause a crush effect on the main loom and may also damage door/boot lid rubbers etc.

Q: Are your units tested?

A: We test every unit prior to despatch

Q: Are electric-over-hydraulic portable kits available?

A: No, suitable for standard electric brakes only

Q: Are these units compatible with ESC

A: Refer to the ESC manufacturer's specification
