The SatKing Orbit is the latest fully automatic Satellite TV dish to hit the Australian market. No need to manually dishes on the ground to watch TV anymore. TheSatKing Orbit has a 85CM high gain dish to provide coverage for VAST & Foxtel Australia wide. Just press OK, simple. Combine this system with a VAST or Foxtel Satellite receiver and you will be watching TV anywhere in Australia within 80 seconds. The Orbit Automatic Satellite Dish uses GPS so the unit already knows the current location for setting elevation and skew making alignment very fast. Just simply power on the unit and press OK and the dish will be locked in under 80 seconds.
The Orbit has a dual output LNB as standard and is suitable for VAST, Foxtel and Foxtel IQ. The unit is already high definition MPEG4 so as TV networks change to MPEG4 HD the Orbit will be unaffected. Many automatic dishes currently on the Australian market are MPEG2 and in the future these units will stop working.
The control box for Orbit is a basic controller with coloured led lights to indicate when searching and when locked. The main board for the Orbit is also built in the control box compared to the ProMax that has the main board in the antenna. The control cable for the Orbit is a multi core cable similar to other round auto dishes.
Even with the low cost the unit is still made for harsh Australian conditions and the unit is fully backed by a 2 year Australian warranty. Technical assistance is provided via a 1300 helpline.

How does satellite TV work:
Satellite TV comes from satellites than are in a geostationary orbit (they don't move and are locked to the earths gravity) so they are always in the same position. Satellite TV providers specially design the beam of the satellite to cover where the population lives or travels. Satellite TV signal is not effected by hills/terrain or distance from terrestrial transmitters like normal terrestrial TV (digital TV) as the signal comes from a satellite in the sky.
Satking PromSatellite signals can be effected by rain, heavy cloud, overhanging trees or by a building blocking the northern sky (the building would need to be very close to the system to block signal). When a satellite signal drops out or can’t be received during a storm or heavy cloud normally you just need to wait until this weather event passes and then normal service should resume. If you are in a lower signal area a lesser rain or cloud event could block the signal, again just wait for the weather to improve for normal service to resume.

The SatKing DVBS2-980CA is the first VAST & Freeview Plus certified satellite TV receiver on the market. SatKing have again taken VAST to a new level with the addition of catch up TV, twin tuners and advanced recording functions all in a compact sized unit.
Still carrying popular SatKing features like the signal finder with beeper to make setting up a breeze. You will also find the expanded SatKing menu very familiar and easy to use.
Connect an external hard disk drive (not included) to take advantage of the twin tuners. You can record any 2 channels and even watch a 3rd channel from within a network all at once. No need to connect 2 hard disk drives.
With a HDD connected you will be able to pause and rewind live TV by up to an hour automatically. The unit also has advanced features to allow you to set recordings from the electronic program guide, take advantage of series link or use the jump back function to go straight back to the start of a recording.
Connect the unit to the internet via an internet cable or via the optional SatKing WL-85 WiFi dongle and you can watch the already built in catch up TV services (note data charges may apply), never miss a program again.
Over the Air (OTA) software upgrade and fully featured loop through tuners make the unit ready for possible future changes to the platform.
The new DVBS2-980CA is also still compatible with the existing DVBS2-800CA remotes and simple to use IR targets.

The VAST decoder can be registered as a permanent or traveller registration. A permanent registration is for households with a fixed installation of the decoder. A traveller registration covers people who as part of their travelling are in areas of Australia not covered by normal terrestrial television. Access to available channels is based on which state your box is registered to.
The unit can be used for either VAST traveller customers (12 Volt) or VAST at home customers (240 Volt) via the included power pack. For self installation SatKing has developed an internal signal finder with an intensity beeper to assist with installations the higher the signal the faster the beeping and an electronic map built in to give you your coordinates for easier dish positioning. The unit also has a detailed electronic help guide and handy features like a USB speed test to test your USB device. For the VAST traveller caravan market the unit also has an optional IR target so you can place the VAST decoder in a cupboard and hide the unit out of sight also handy two place the unit behind large screen TV’s in home when you don’t want to look at the STB. Commercial installations and customers with older TV’s will find the built in RF modulator of great assistance, you can simply use the SatKing decoder on any TV new or old without any extra expense.
